Here’s what you do:

Get 1/2 yard of fleece fabric, wash it and trim the edges

Fold the fabric in half and cut into two equal pieces.  Making sure the print side is facing out, pin the two pieces together with safety pins.  Put the pins about 3 inches in and go all around the fabric.

Next, making sure to cut through both pieces of fabric, cut several strips.  You can make these thick/thin and long/short.  Personally I make them about 1/2 inch wide and about 3 inches long.

Tie the strips together with double knots, pulling them tight.  Continue doing this the whole way around the fabric.

When you get to a corner cut out the square of the corner and continue tying. Be sure to remove all the safety pins as you go.

When you finish you will have a unique Baby Binkie (or Blankie).  You can do this for larger projects too.  If you want to make a lap blanket get about 1 & 1/2 yards of two complimentary colored fleece fabric (I often get 1 print and 1 solid).  To make a larger bed sized blanket use 2 yards of two fabrics.
