- The first class, “What’s in your Science Tool Box” takes place on Friday, January 13 Through this session, homeschoolers will learn about the scientific process and get hands on experience working with tools of the trade.
- The second class, “Boom, Fizzle, Spark!” takes place Friday, February 10. Participants will begin class by performing experiments provided by staff then will create their own experiment with materials provided.
Athens: Home School Science at Sandy Creek Nature Center!

The Athens-Clarke County Department of Leisure Services will host “Home School Science: Back to Basic” program this winter at Sandy Creek Nature Center.
This special series is designed for those children, ages 4-12, who are home schooled. This winter series will focus on science basics.
Both sessions take place 10:00 a.m. – noon. The program fee is $4 for Athens-Clarke County per student/per session and $6 for a non-Athens-Clarke County resident, per session. Online registration is underway at www.athensclarkecounty.com/ leisure by clicking on the “Nature” tab.
