The Open House will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2018 from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola and Center for Civil and Human Rights.  All teachers (who pre-register for the event), along with one guest, will receive complimentary admission to each attraction. Any additional guests will need to purchase an entry ticket to each attraction.

Stone Mountain has become super crowded for Fourth of July celebrations.  To ease this, Stone Mountain Park will be doing seven identical nights (July 1-7) of special Independence Day fireworks!  That means you have 7 opportunities to see this wondrous show!

Stone Mountain Park’s Fantastic Fourth Celebration occurs July 1 through 7 at 9:30 p.m. each night. Parking is $20 per vehicle or $40 for an annual parking pass. The fireworks shows are included with parking admission.

The Fantastic Fourth Celebration is part of Stone Mountain Park’s annual Summer at the Rock event which runs through July 28 and includes fun-filled family activities, summer entertainment, interactive attractions and plenty of beautiful, outdoor recreation experiences. All-Attractions Passes are $34.95 for adults or $29.95 for children age 3-11. Discounts are available at stonemountainpark.com.

Wow – we had a great week at VBS last week at our new church.  We made some great new friends and we are finding our place nicely.  The week ahead brings another nephew’s birthday party, hopefully some swimming, and school time.  I’ve officially put an ending date to our homeschool year of July 3rd, so we are almost there!  I think this teacher will be celebrating even more than the students!

It’s been a hard year for school, between my nephew’s severe brain injury and my husband’s cancer surgery and then it returning. I hope to find some time soon to put together our schedule for next year’s homeschool.  I think I mentioned it before, but all of the kids are coming back home for school, where in years past we have put them in local homeschool co-ops and programs.  Season of change, again.

We went to a beautiful wedding in South Carolina this weekend, where our incredible long-time babysitter and friend got married and is moving.  The picture above is the kids at her wedding.  They are all growing up so fast!
