Happy Monday everyone! We’ve made it another week here in our “flattening the curve” quarantine. This past week went well and we’re still healthy. We’ve been staying home completely except for a grocery pickup run and of course my husband working.
Today, we are celebrating our 18th anniversary!!! This is definitely not how we planned to spend it, but we are safe, healthy, and that is all that matters. The week ahead brings more homeschool. I’m actually really enjoying having everything else cancelled and being able to just focus on school and family.
Here’s what we are making this week –
Monday: Steak from Texas Roadhouse (they are offering for you to purchase their fresh, uncooked meat and prices were decent!), sweet potatoes, asparagus
Tuesday: Chicken Fajita Rice
Wednesday: BBQ, beans, chips
Thursday: Nachos
Friday: Homemade Pizza
Saturday: Chili
Sunday: Eggs, Biscuits

I’ve seen such cute driveway art lately and I’ve noticed the hashtag #ChalkYourWalk is trending with families. The idea is to create a design for your driveway that will encourage and uplift others. The kids and I dug out the chalk and went to work! We were hoping to do a better mosaic design but we quickly were running out of chalk. I will show you how we did our design though!
For starters, we pulled out painter’s tape. My oldest got to work making a rectangle and then randomly adding more tape to create design areas.
From there, the younger kids each got a piece of chalk and randomly colored in the shapes. After it’s filled in, simply pull up the painter’s tape for a fun design! Note that it will use a LOT of chalk, but it was fun! I hope it brings some brightness to someone in this challenging season.

As we all know, pretty much everything is closed. Alliance Theatre was working so hard on their upcoming presentation of Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience. This show is based on the popular Mo Willems book. Since we are unable to visit them, they want to come visit all of us through streaming their show! What a fun idea!
The steps to stream the show are simple:
1.) Go to the Alliance Theatre streaming web page HERE
2.) Choose your date. Select a date between now and April 12th to view the video. Choose the payment option that works best for you! Please know that whatever amount you choose goes to supporting the artists of the Alliance Theatre. Options as low as $5!
3.) For the date you selected, a viewing passcode will be sent to you in an email that morning at 9AM. Double check your spam folder if you don’t see it. You will then have 48 hours to watch the video as many times as you like.
What a great opportunity to support a local theatre that has spent countless hours preparing a show! I hope you all are able to check this out. We most certainly will!

For a limited time, Kroger is offering FREE Grocery Pickup to make it easier to get what you need. There is no minimum. I’ve been so pleased with Kroger pickup lately and use it or Walmart pickup to get the items my family needs without having to step foot in the store.
Hope this helps some of you save!

Today is day 10 of staying at home and so far, we are doing well. I truly enjoy cooking for my family and spending time with them, so honestly it hasn’t been too difficult. Saturday we celebrated a week at home by making a cookie cake and grilling outside. The kids enjoyed it and it was a delicious treat. This week brings another week at home and homeschooling. Today my husband has to return to his work in law enforcement. We spoke to his oncologist and to our PCP and even though his immunity is a little low, they say to just use good hygiene and stay away from others to prevent contracting the virus. Please pray that he continues to stay healthy. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous, but we need to trust his doctors and above all else, trust that God has this.
It is a little bizarre not having anywhere to go and not being able to play with our neighbors. We pray that this season passes quickly and that all of you stay healthy.
Here’s our menu for the week –
Monday: Lasagna
Tuesday: Burritos
Wednesday: Egg Casserole
Thursday: Roast, veggies
Friday: Grilled Cheese, soup
Saturday: Lentil Soup
Sunday: Spaghetti
