If you are a new couponer, you may need to know “Coupon Lingo”. Here goes:
BOGO: Buy one Get one
RP: Red Plum -Newspaper coupon insert – Usually you will see this paired with a date which will tell you when the coupon insert came out.
SS: Smart Source – Newspaper coupon insert – Usually you will see this paired with a date which will tell you when the coupon insert came out.
SCR: Single Check Rebate- This is a program exclusive to Rite-Aid. Basically you pay for everything and then when you get home, you go online and enter your reciept information on the Rite-Aid website. At the end of the month, request your Single Check Rebate to get your money back.
ECB: Extra Care Bucks – This is a program exclusive to CVS. The ECB’s print on your reciept at checkout. They work just like cash in the store.
RR: Register Rebate- This is a program exclusive to Walgreens. The RR’s print on your reciept at checkout. They work just like cash in the store.
Blinkie Coupon – These are found in the machines at the store that “spit out” coupons. They are usually red and sometimes have a little light on them that blink.
Catalina Coupon – These print off at checkout next to the receipt and are usually based upon the things that you buy.
GC – Gift Certificate/Gift Card
OOP – Out of Pocket
Peelie – Coupon you peel off the actual product
P&G – Proctor and Gamble – Also a newspaper coupon insert – Usually you will see this paired with a date which will tell you when the coupon insert came out.
Stacking – Using a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon at the same time (if store allows)
Tearpad – stack of coupons found in the stores that you normally have to “tear” to get a coupon off
WYB – When you Buy….
