Our family really enjoys visiting the Sandy Creek Nature Center. It’s really cool to play in the facility and explore all of the trails. Even better, they often have programs that the family can attend, some with a minimal fee and some for free!
Sandy Creek Nature Center Free Family Programs Fall 2018
- “Nature’s Trading Post” is scheduled for Saturdays, October 6, and November 3 from 11:00 a.m.– noon. The trading post is open! Trade one or two objects you have found in nature for points or other natural objects in our collection.
- “Naturalist’s Walks” are planned for Saturdays, September 8, October 6, November 3 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Join naturalists as we discover the beauty of fall. “Trick or Trees” is the theme for October. November’s theme is “Bring Your Dog.” Bring binoculars, a camera, and a sense of adventure.
- “Critter Tales” will take place Saturdays, September 8, October 6, and November 3 from 2:30 – 3:00 p.m. Participants will hear a story about nature and then staff will bring it to life by visiting a critter or going outdoors for an activity. A different tale is read each month.
