We were very excited to hear about the new movie I HEARD THE BELLS, based on the life of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. My daughter recently memorized Paul Revere’s Ride by him and so he’s fresh in our minds. I received the opportunity to watch this movie with my family last night and I am glad we did!
Known as America’s Poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow leads an idyllic life until the day his world is shattered by tragedy. With a nation divided by Civil War and his family torn apart, Henry puts down his pen, silenced by grief. But it’s the sound of Christmas morning that reignites the poet’s lost voice as he discovers the resounding hope of rekindled faith.
We thought I HEARD THE BELLS was extremely well done. I learned a lot about Longfellow’s life and it’s inspiring me to look up more of his poetry. The acting was wonderful and it immediately drew us in and desire to watch more.
