We have 5 children in our house. Our youngest is 2 1/2 years old and sometimes has trouble settling at night in the room he shares with his older brother. Bedtimes can be a little difficult because Simon wants to have a night light so he doesn’t get scared. Big brother prefers the dark. This review couldn’t have come at a more perfect time for us! Our Experience with SleepBuddy:
To introduce the SleepBuddy, we followed the instructions, which say to offer it as a gift for the child. My son was thrilled to open it before nap time and then he inquisitively examined the SleepBuddy.
My husband managed to set it up rather quickly and Simon chose the color blue for his SleepBuddy. Setting up the SleepBuddy was really easy and self explanatory. We placed it next to the lower half of our bunk bed where it would comfort Simon and not disturb big brother.
Included in the set is a book that talks about SleepBuddy that you can read to your child so they will understand what it does. Simon really liked the book!
After using it for a few weeks, we have no complaints! We have been able to set it up to remember both bedtime and nap time times and it will start glowing automatically. It has helped us to tell Simon that his night light is glowing and that means it’s time for bed. It’s much easier to put him to bed without him saying “Mama, I scared”. He knows that when SleepBuddy turns off, it’s ok to get up.
I also like that it has a long, rechargeable battery, so I don’t have to leave it plugged in all the time and worry about cords near his bed. That also means we can take it to the mountains when we go for a weekend trip and I don’t have to take along extra cords. Definitely recommended for parents of little ones transitioning to a bed or those who want to get up before it’s time!
