My 30th birthday is in March. I’ve been saying for the past year that all I want for my birthday is to go to Disney. Thanks to Alexia from Destinations in Florida finding me a deal, it looks like that will come true! I’m super excited!
The plan is to spend a week at the Fort Wilderness campground. We are looking to buy a popup in the next week or so to take with us on the trip. We plan to cook most of our meals since eating in Disney with the 6 of us would add up super fast.
On my actual birthday, I think we will go to Fogo de Chao, one of my favorite restaurants, in Orlando. So glad that they have one down there now!
Now here’s the big question. How do we tell our kids that we are going to Disney?
They are age 10, 7, 4, and 3. I definitely don’t want to tell them early so I don’t hear the constant questions of how many more days until we go. I also don’t know about packing without them knowing. I homeschool and there is really no way I can get around them knowing I’m packing.
So should I tell them the day before? Surprise with balloons and Mickey Pancakes? Mickey shaped cookies? Treasure hunt with Disney goodies at the end?
I’d love to hear ideas! Comment and let me know what you did or what you would do!

Did you know that one out of every five American women has been the victims of an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime? That’s quite alarming. Would you be prepared if someone had ill intentions against you?
I always believe in being prepared. You never know when something may or may not happen and I prefer to err on the side of caution. Here is a list of 10 products that women can use to protect themselves in an attack. Some of these are quite simple but super effective.
SABRE RED Police Strength Pepper Spray: The most popular Sabre style, the 15 gram/0.54-ounce SABRE RED pepper spray offers a quick-release design giving you immediate access to your defense spray when unlocking a door or driving a car. Its powerful ballistic stream has a range of up to 10 feet and reduces wind blowback. As a result, you can reliably protect yourself in unfamiliar or dangerous neighborhoods and situations from a safe distance.

Made in the USA of polymer plastic that is strong and durable. This keyring will give you the edge you need against unwanted advances. You put your fingers through the eye holes and the tips of the ears can be used to defend your self against an attacker.
Fury Sporting Cutlery – Tactical Kuba-Kickz – Extremely effective regardless of the user’s level of self defense training. The only non-lethal self defense tool designed for shoes Fits in the laces of the shoe on top of the tongue Covert and ultra lightweight, yet devastatingly effective One piece construction of tough, high impact plastic.
Pepperblaster 2 Grey, One Size Grey – The Kimber PepperBlaster® II features an ergonomic pistol grip along with front and rear sights to increase the likelihood of hitting an assailant with the exceptionally powerful OC mixture capable of incapacitating the assailant for up to 45 minutes. A second reserve shot is available as needed.
Fight Back: A Woman’s Guide to Self-defense that Works -Some ‘experts’ say that you should be submissive when attacked at home or by a stranger. You won’t find that advice here, although you might use it as a ruse before you claw your assailant’s eyes and annihilate his groin. Your ultimate goal is to get away but you don t achieve that by being meek and docile. You get away by drawing on that hard-wired survival instinct to attack him like an enraged lioness protecting its babies. In Fight Back: A Woman’s Guide to Self-defense that Works, martial arts experts Loren W. Christensen and Lisa Place teach you to use your hands, forearms, elbows, teeth, knees and feet to survive the type of attack that unsuspecting women become the victims of every day.
Guard Dog iStun Cell Phone Stun Gun The Guard Dog Security introduces the world’s first and only iStun. The iStun is a cognitive self defense stun gun designed to resemble popular smart phones, yet emits a staggering electric shock capable to incapacitate an assailant. Although the patented iStun will not make calls or browse the web, it delivers the peace of mind of personal security.

I received a Target gift card to purchase LISTERINE brand products from Johnson & Johnson Healthcare Products Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc. and The Motherhood as part of my participation in the LISTERINE 21-Day Challenge. The thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my own.
I don’t know about the rest of ya’ll, but I HATE going to the dentist. I will do pretty much anything to make sure that the dentist doesn’t find anything wrong in my mouth. Last year I finally got my wisdom teeth out and haven’t been back since, but it’s getting to be about that time.
I have to admit that I don’t floss nearly as often as I should. It simply hasn’t become a habit and is just something that I do when I remember or if I have something stuck in my teeth.
Honestly, I also rarely use antiseptic mouth wash. I hate the way that it burns and always leaves me nearly in tears.
Listerine has challenged me to use their items, found at Target. For the next 21 days, I’m working hard to change those habits into good habits of remembering to do each step in cleaning my teeth. Brush, Floss, and Mouthwash. Did you know simply brushing your teeth misses 75% off the germs in your mouth? WOW! That’s a scary statistic!
My kids will also be changing their habits. They will be starting to use the LISTERINE SMART RINSE. I can’t wait to see how they do with it.
Taking part in the LISTERINE 21 Day Challenge also helps children in need. For every person who posts a “Swish Selfie” to LISTERINE Brand’s Facebook Page, LISTERINE Brand will make a $5.00 contribution to Oral Health America’s Smiles Across America program, up to $85,000 toward their goal of connecting 210,000 children with needed oral health services in 2014.
Will you join us in this challenge? What tips do you have to get your family to do more than just brush?
