Educator Open House with Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, and Center for Civil and Human Rights
On Saturday, Aug. 27, World of Coca-Cola is hosting Educator Open House in partnership with Georgia Aquarium and Center for Civil and Human Rights. Local educators, including homeschool teachers, are invited to come see why the attractions should be their next field trip destinations.
Attending educators visit the attractions for free from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and may bring one guest, also free of charge. (You may purchase tickets for additional guests.) Pre-registration is required, and space is limited, so interested educators should register as soon as possible at http://www.georgiaaquarium.org/experience/learn/school-programs/educators/educator-open-house. A valid teacher ID is required for entry to the event, and homeschool teachers may bring a copy of their Letter of Intent.

We Tried the Dollar Shave Club
So we finally bit the bullet and decided to try the Dollar Shave Club. I signed up last week and today I got a box in the mail with our first shipment. I tried the $1 subscription for my husband. It comes with a handle, 5 blades, and ours had a small sample of the Shave Butter.
With the Dollar Shave Club, you can choose from The Humble Twin, The 4X, or the Executive. My husband doesn’t like a bunch of blades so we did the $1 option. I can’t believe the wonderful quality and the fact it was shipped right to our house for $2! So $3 shipped for everything for this option! The other options include free shipping.
My husband was pretty impressed and says he really like the feel of the shave. You definitely can’t beat the price!
Note that when you sign up, you are signing up for a monthly subscription but you can cancel anytime. I think we are going to keep our subscription! Definitely love the money saved! Head on over to check it out!
Join Dollar Tree’s Value Seekers Club
Well this is new! I just found out that Dollar Tree has a Value Seeker’s Club with members-only contests, money-saving party ideas, crafts, recipes, exclusive product sneak peeks & more. I bet this will be a great way to find more ideas for a party on a budget! Head on over to join their free club.
Goodbye Huggies Reward Codes
If you haven’t heard yet, pay attention! Heads up if you collect Huggies rewards points from their diapers and wipes! Hughes is giving you until 11:59 pm TOMORROW night to get your codes in before they stop accepting them! If you are putting codes in, be patient. It’s taking me about a minute to get each one added. Just hit submit once and then wait… and wait… and wait.
My thoughts? Personally I’m not a fan of having to submit my receipts to them to get points. I probably will do it, but I believe it’s just a way for them to provide research on what parents are buying along with their Huggies products.
If you’re like me, you already do submit your receipts for points on apps like Ibotta, Checkout51, and others, so honestly, it’s not a huge deal to me. Adding another app and another thing to remember is a pain, though.
What are your thoughts?
Cow Appreciation Day – July 12, 2016 + Changes
This year, Chick-fil-A’s Cow Appreciation Day is on July 12, 2016. That will be a fun day since it’s my 3rd child’s birthday! Hooray! There are a few changes that you will want to take note of before heading out.
The most important thing to take note of is that they are now only offering an entree instead of a full meal for free for adults. Children can still receive a kids meal. Please read the snippet below, pulled from their website:
I have to say that I’m a little sad, but I understand the changes. Chick-fil-a is still so incredibly generous to offer such a fun day! Let’s remember to be gracious and thankful for what is offered. We will still be there with our cowbells on 🙂
How does your family celebrate cow day?
