How to Make a Construction Zone for Kids

I found the coolest gift for my son’s 3rd birthday!  He’s a huge fan of cars, trucks, planes, helicopters, and all construction vehicles.  I was trying to find something for him without breaking the budget and I came across this Big Dig Ride-On Crane!  It had great reviews so I thought this would be perfect for him.

To make his little play area, we went to Lowe’s and bought some of the garden edging pieces.  From there, we went to look at the rocks and play sand.  Our Lowe’s offers broken bags for 50% off. Yours might as well – just ask an associate.  We found some of the pea gravel open and got a few bags.  Once we got home, it took only about 5-10 minutes to create the little area for him to play in.

The “Construction Zone” was really easy to put together and helped fill in a low spot in our yard as well.  And look at that smile!  Totally worth it!  We can use his other dump trucks and cars to play in the gravel, too.  I think he pretty much spent the whole rest of the day in his Construction Zone with the exception of mealtime.  Even the big kids are enjoying it!

Looking for a deal?  Amazon has the Big Dig Ride-On Crane down to $34.99 right now.  Pretty good deal to me!
