There are so many fun fall festivals in Athens, Georgia! Here’s a list of the ones that I’ve found, which includes church fall festivals, haunted houses, and more in our area. This list is currently being updated for the 2019 fall season. Please leave me a comment and let me know of others that you find! I’ll be happy to add the list!

Milledge Avenue Baptist Church Pumpkin Patch: We have pumpkins of all sizes for sale. The cost of the pumpkin depends on the size and kind. Come on out to our front lawn and pick out a few pumpkins
Zombie Farms: Athens Zombie Tours begins the first weekend in October!
Fearopolis: Funopolis has transformed into Fearopolis! Enjoy the Entertaining Haunted Hayride. Don’t get lost in the Non-haunted Pallet Maze. Test your mind with the Quick Escape Room. Weekends beginning in October!
Washington Farms: Corn Maze, Farm Activities, Pumpkin Patch, and more. Information and hours on their website.
Six Flags Fright Fest: Fright Fest, presented by SNICKERS®, is back for select days September 22-October 31 at Six Flags Over Georgia. Fright Fest offers a wide variety of places to get your scare on including several haunted houses and scare zones located throughout the park. BEWARE! There is no place to hide!
Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival: September 22 – October 28 (Friday – Sunday). Enjoy the beautiful fall colors and cooler weather at Atlanta’s favorite place to celebrate the fall season. Stone Mountain Park’s annual Pumpkin Festival has become a family favorite with kids and parents alike. Take in all of the splendor that autumn provides with attractions, fun-filled games, shows, and more.
MOAS Howl’O’Ween Tricks for Treats: Join us for a howling good time at MOAS’ Tricks for Treats on October 12th from 1-3pm. Come dressed in your best for our costume contests (categories listed below) and photo ops. You and your pup will have a blast on our Howl’O’Ween Treat Hunt with hundreds of hidden treats for your pups to find. You don’t want to miss it! And we’ll have lots of fun games for your dog to show off how good he is at his tricks to earn all sorts of treats! We’ll have events like Bobbing for Tennis Balls and a Tricks for Treats Challenge where dogs and their owners have a minute to demonstrate as many tricks as they can. We’ll also have homemade doggie pupsicles that you can purchase for your furry friends. Admission is $5 per dog and donations are greatly appreciated. As always, all proceeds go directly back to the shelter to help care for our animals, so come out and have a fantastic time with your dog(s) and help us save shelter pets! We will also have shelter dogs up for adoption and in costume, so this is a great opportunity to have a meet and greet with your pup if you are considering adopting or fostering.
Boo-le-Bark on the Boulevard: Come to the Boo-le-Bark Canine Costume Contest and Carnival benefiting Athenspets, a local non-profit who aids the neediest animals of Athens-Clarke County. The parade is rain or shine! Festivities will continue after the parade at Jittery Joe’s Roaster with music, fun, photos and delicious eats from Manila Express and many more TBD!
Hoschton Fall Festival: features a display of the products such as array of food vendors, craft/info/game vendors, parade, parade waiver, scarecrow 5K run and much more. Alchemistry store will be at Hoschton Fall Festival showcasing handmade aromatherapy products
Oconee Fall Festival: Join us at Rocket Field in Downtown Watkinsville, GA on October 19th for the 2019 Oconee Chamber Fall Festival! With over 200 booth spaces and 20,000 visitors in attendance, this one day outdoor festival is the largest arts & crafts venue in the area.
Faith Presbyterian Fall Festival: We hope you will join us (rain or shine) for our annual celebration! Children, students, and adults of all ages can enjoy games, prizes, hot dogs, refreshments, cake walk, photo booth, and more… all FREE! Come in costume, if you like! Enjoy relaxing with friends, eating dinner, or picking up a game of cornhole. Families with little ones will enjoy the carnival style games, train ride, and bounce house. Chick-fil-A Atlanta Highway Trunk of Treat: 5pm-7pm. Bring the kids in their costumes Tuesday, October 22nd from 5pm to 7pm to trick or treat out of the trunks of local businesses & organizations. The first 200 kids will get to paint a mini pumpkin.
One Spooky Night: Put on your favorite Halloween disguise and join us for our 20th annual haunting evening of seasonal tales, costumes, shadow puppetry and surprises! After the performance, enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the library for non-food prizes at every public desk. Journey through the haunted Storyroom, play vintage carnival games and make an assortment of spooky crafts. For all ages with caregiver. Performance in Meeting Rooms A&B. Activities building-wide. 6:30 p.m. – Shadow Puppet Show and performance. 7:00 p.m. – Trick-or-Treat and activities building-wide
YMCA Trunk or Treat: 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm – children with special needs and their families. 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm – open to the public. $2 per child – no cost for children with special needs. To promote a safe and fun environment for our children and families, the Athens YMCA is hosting our second annual trick-or-treat alternative. Kids can trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk full of goodies! Up to 70 cars can participate. Register your trunk starting September 1st! Halloween Carnival and Boo at the Zoo: The annual Halloween event is scheduled for Thursday, October 24 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Participants are invited to take a haunted trick or treat tour of Bear Hollow Zoo, then stop by the festive Halloween Carnival for fun and prizes. Activities include cupcake walk, games, hayride, inflatables, and a costume contest every hour. This program is for all ages. The fee is $5 per child.
Oconee Health Campus: “Trunk or Treat” at decorated vehicles created by Piedmont Athens Regional departments/services. Costumes Encouraged. Local food trucks onsite with items for purchase.
AuburnFest: Come have fun at our annual hometown fall festival including arts, crafts, food, and live music!
Halloween at J&J Flea Market: Get excited for some spooky family fun at the flea! On Saturday, October 26th from noon to 2pm, J&J Flea Market will have trick-or-treating throughout all of the sellers at the flea! The first 25 sellers to sign up in the J&J Flea Market office will receive candy from the flea to hand out to trick-or-treaters on October 26th! We are also excited to announce our first ever Pumpkin Carving Contest. All pumpkins must be carved before arriving at the flea market. There will be no carving taking place at the flea market, pumpkins will be judged by a panel of judges selected by the market. Winner of pumpkin contest will be selected at 3pm on October 26 inside Stuffed at J&J. 1st place prize TBA

Winterville United Methodist Fall Festival: Craft Fair, Bouncy House, A Creation Station for children of all ages, Games & Prize, Photo Opps, Food and a Hootenanny
Victory Baptist Church Fall Festival: Victory Baptist Church will host a fall carnival from 1pm-3pm. We will have inflatables, sno cones, popcorn, games, face painting, and more. Everyone is welcome! We would love to have you come fellowship with us!
A Spooky Good Time: 10am to 12pm with ACCPD – open to CHILDREN UNDER 10 YRS ONLY (all props will be lit and stationary) 2pm to 8pm – open to the general public. Please bring a canned, non-perishable food item for admission

Oconee County Fire Rescue Halloween Open House: Our Halloween open house at Fire Station 8 will be Saturday, October 26th from 5-7 pm. Our new fire station is located at 1600 Virgil Langford Road. We’ll have hot dogs, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn and of course, lots of candy! There will be games, balloons and an inflatable slide. And of course we’ll have firefighters, rescue trucks and big red fire trucks!!! So load up your kids and come join us for a fun evening.
Grace Fellowship Church Fall Festival: FALL FESTIVAL IS BACK! Sunday, October 27 from 2-5pm we invite you, your family and your friends to join us for a super fun day!
First Baptist Church Fall Festival: Join us for an afternoon of games, trunk-or-treat, and a hot dog dinner. This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome. Costumes optional.
Halloween Havoc: Join UGA Cattlemen’s Association for our annual Halloween Havoc! Halloween Havoc is a fun, safe, and inexpensive event for kids in the Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties to participate in halloween favorites like trick-or-treat and carnival games while learning about the agricultural industry. This year it falls on Tuesday, October 29th from 5:30-8:00pm at the UGA Livestock Arena. We will have pony rides, a petting zoo, bouncy houses, carnival games, arts & crafts and much more! *PLEASE NOTE: Pony rides and the petting zoo will run from 5:30-7:30pm to ensure the animals get adequate rest. We will be cutting off the line for pony rides around 7:15 so be sure you are here on time if you would like to participate in these events.* Admission is $10 at the door, or if you bring a canned food item for the NEGA Food Bank you will receive $2 off.

Trunk or Treat – Grove Chapel Church – Winterville: 6pm – Come join us Wednesday October 30th for our annual Trunk or Treat / Fall Festival. There will be games, cakes walks, hotdogs and more. There will also be a contest for the best decorated trunk. This event is open to the community. Bring your children or come decorate your trunk and give away some candy if you don’t have kids. We look forward to seeing you there!
Green Acres Baptist Church Trunk or Treat: 6:30-8:30 – Join us the day before Halloween for a great community event! Families and all ages welcome! Games, treats, and a whole lot of fun! This is a free event. Just be sure start at the registration table for your trunk tickets.
Oconee Heights Baptist Church Fall Festival: Join us on Wednesday, October 30th from 6:00pm-8:00pm for our Annual Fall Festival! FREE for whole family! Pre-registration is OPEN NOW and will close on Tuesday, October 29th at midnight. Trick or Treatment Tour: 6:00 PM-7:30 PM @ Cedar Creek Water Reclamation Facility. Bubbling vats of mysterious potions. Billions of microscopic bugs. We’re not talking about Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory; we’re talking about a wastewater treatment plant! Join us at the Cedar Creek Water Reclamation Facility for a tour of the wastewater treatment process. Find out what we’ve got brewing and how we keep Athens’ water clean. The tour will be held on Wednesday, October 30th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Ages 8 and up. Costumes welcome! And to all the good and bad witches out there: leave the high heels at home!

Madison County Emergency Trick or Treat: From 6pm-8pm, enjoy the 2nd annual trick or treat with first responders at the Madison County Recreation Department.
Athens Christian Church: Come join us October 31, 6:30 – 8:30 pm for our fall festival! Free family fun for everyone! Games, prizes, activities, food, treats, bingo, hayride, face painting and lots of candy! Costumes are encouraged, but please nothing bloody or scary. Most of the activities are inside so even if it rains, the fun is still on!
Athens First Responders Trunk or Treat: 6:00pm to 8:00pm, ACCPD Precinct, 3035 Lexington Road. Please bring your own Goody Bag for candy and treats. ACCPD will be joined by Athens-Clarke County Fire and Emergency Services and Clarke County Sheriff’s Office too.
Mall-O-Ween: Candy Stations throughout Mall. Music, Face Painting, Balloon Art & More! Family-friendly Adult Costume Contest. No masks allowed for over 10 years old.
