There are so many fun fall festivals in Athens, Georgia! Here’s a list of the ones that I’ve found, which includes church fall festivals, haunted houses, and more in our area. This list is currently being updated for the 2018 fall season. Please leave me a comment and let me know of others that you find! I’ll be happy to add the list!

Milledge Avenue Baptist Church Pumpkin Patch: We have pumpkins of all sizes for sale. The cost of the pumpkin depends on the size and kind. Come on out to our front lawn and pick out a few pumpkins
Zombie Farms: Athens Zombie Tours begins the first weekend in October!
Fearopolis: Funopolis has transformed into Fearopolis! Enjoy the Entertaining Haunted Hayride. Don’t get lost in the Non-haunted Pallet Maze. Test your mind with the Quick Escape Room. Weekends beginning in October!
Washington Farms: Corn Maze, Farm Activities, Pumpkin Patch, and more. Information and hours on their website.
Six Flags Fright Fest: Fright Fest, presented by SNICKERS®, is back for select days September 22-October 31 at Six Flags Over Georgia. Fright Fest offers a wide variety of places to get your scare on including several haunted houses and scare zones located throughout the park. BEWARE! There is no place to hide!
Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival: September 22 – October 28 (Friday – Sunday). Enjoy the beautiful fall colors and cooler weather at Atlanta’s favorite place to celebrate the fall season. Stone Mountain Park’s annual Pumpkin Festival has become a family favorite with kids and parents alike. Take in all of the splendor that autumn provides with attractions, fun-filled games, shows, and more.
Monroe Fall Fest: Downtown Monroe wants to make sure you enjoy the season at our annual Fall Fest presented by Synovus Bank. Families can come to enjoy the sites, sounds, food and activities of Downtown Monroe. Don’t miss our annual Children’s Costume Contest! Register between 10am-1pm. The Contest will be at 1:00pm at the Historic Courthouse. Prizes given for the best costume in each age group for the kids’ costume contest
Boo-le-Bark on the Boulevard: Come to the Boo-le-Bark Canine Costume Contest and Carnival benefiting Athenspets, a local non-profit who aids the neediest animals of Athens-Clarke County. The parade is rain or shine! Festivities will continue after the parade at Jittery Joe’s Roaster with music, fun, photos and delicious eats from Manila Express and many more TBD!
Oconee Fall Festival: Join us at Rocket Field in Downtown Watkinsville, GA on October 20th for the 2018 Oconee Chamber Fall Festival! With over 200 booth spaces and 20,000 visitors in attendance, this one day outdoor festival is the largest arts & crafts venue in the area.
AuburnFest: Auburn’s Hometown Festival – celebrating our great city and the people who have lived, loved and worked here! Come out for a real hometown festival including pie baking contests, canning contests, quilting and knitting contests, a backyard BBQ competition and more! Great activities for the kids including pony rides and inflatables. The Auburn Public Library will have free crafts for the kids. Craft vendors galore – all vendor’s items must be handmade crafts and art.
MOAS Howl’O’Ween Tricks for Treats: Join us for a howling good time at MOAS’ Tricks for Treats on October 20th from 1-3pm. Come dressed in your best for our costume contests (categories listed below) and our photo ops with Kathy Sweat Schultz of Farm Fresh Photography. You and your pup will have a blast on our Howl’O’Ween Treat Hunt with over 800 hidden treats for your pups to find. We’ll have bobbing for tennis balls, dog puzzle challenges, and more. Even better, we’ll have homemade doggie popsicles that you can purchase for your furry friends. Admission is $5 per dog and donations are greatly appreciated. As always, all proceeds go directly back to the shelter to help care for our animals, so come out and have a fantastic time with your dog(s) and help us save shelter pets!
Faith Fall Festival: We hope you will join us (rain or shine) for our annual celebration! Children, students, and adults of all ages can enjoy games, prizes, hot dogs, refreshments, cake walk, photo booth, and more… all FREE! Come in costume, if you like! Enjoy live music while relaxing with friends, eating dinner, or picking up a game of cornhole. Families with little ones will enjoy the carnival style games, train ride, and bounce house.
ESP Fall Festival: Join ESP for a fully accessible and FREE Fall Festival! On Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 3PM – 6PM, we will be hosting ESP Fall Festival at Camp Hooray! We will be having a bounce house, hay ride, costume contest, games, food, and more! Open and FREE for families with disabilities.
One Spooky Night: Put on your favorite Halloween disguise and join us for our 19th annual haunting evening of seasonal tales, costumes, shadow puppetry and surprises. After the performance, enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the library for non-food prizes at every public desk. Journey through the haunted Storyroom, play carnival games and make an assortment of spooky crafts. For all ages with caregiver. Performance in Meeting Rooms A&B. Activities building-wide.
Trunk or Treat – Briarwood Baptist: Join us for a free hotdog supper at 6:00, followed by Trunk or Treat at 6:30.
St. Mary’s Wellness Center Trunk or Treat: 4:30pm-6:30pm. Join us for a family fun event! We will have candy for little ones to participate in our trunk or treat! (Candy will be nut free in order to be considerate of those with allergies). We will also have several food trucks, so stick around for dinner! Make sure to dress up in your best & most creative costume for our contest!
YMCA Trunk or Treat: Join us for our FIRST Trunk or Treat at the YMCA! Thursday, October 25th from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. To promote a safe and fun environment for children and families, the Athens YMCA is hosting a trick-or-treat alternative. Kids can trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk full of goodies!
Boo at the Zoo: Come join us for Memorial Park and Bear Hollow Zoo’s annual Halloween Carnival and Boo at the Zoo on Thursday, October 25th from 5-8pm. The cost is $5/person (children under 2 are free). Enjoy trick-or-treating through the zoo, hayrides around the lake, and a carnival full of games, inflatables, and a cupcake walk on the basketball court!
Halloween at J&J Flea Market: There’s so much spooky family fun to be had at J&J Flea Market on Saturday, October 27th from 10am-3pm! Trick-or-Treating, Costume Contest, Vendor Booth Decorating Contest. SCHEDULE: Trick-or-Treat Registration: 10am-11am, Trick-or-Treating: 11am-3pm
Auburn Whistlestop Thriller: City of Auburn’s Whistlestop Park invites everyone small and tall to a Free Thriller event! We will have a Trunk or Treat set up for all your trick or treating thrills. This event provides a safe environment for children to enjoy trick-or-treating, Bounce Houses, Costume Contests, Face Painting and other fun games. Trick-or-treat booths will be provided by the Whistlestop Shops, local businesses, and some of your neighborhood friends. Prizes will also be given out to the top 3 decorated Trunks/Booths! Admission is FREE and includes inflatables, games, trick-or-treating and more. Please locate designated tent to sign waiver and pick up your free wristbands. Everyone must have wristbands to participate in activities.
Train or Treat: Come celebrate Halloween at the Southeastern Railway Museum! Doors open at 10:00 am, activities from 10:30 am – 4:00 pm. To get 2 free train ride tickets, drop off a bag of sealed, individually-wrapped, fun-size candy at the Museum’s gate house by October 20! More info on link.
Room on the Broom: Join us for story time and a craft on Tuesday, October 30th at 10:30am! Ages: 18 months to 6 years

Halloween Havoc: Join UGA Cattlemen’s Association for Halloween Havoc!
Halloween Havoc is a fun, safe, and inexpensive place for kids in the Athens-Clarke and Oconee counties to trick-or-treat while also learning about agriculture. This year it is Tuesday, October 30th from 5:30-8 at the UGA Livestock Arena. We will have pony rides, bouncy houses, face painting, carnival games, petting zoo, a halloween movie, and pizza!! Chick-fil-A Fall Festival Trunk or Treat: Bring out the family to paint pumpkins, make slime, play games & more while collecting candy along the way! Only at Atlanta Highway. No reservations needed. Must be 12 years or younger to participate.
Trunk or Treat – United Team Sports Center: $3 entry per person • Fun for All Ages! Candy, Giveaways, Contests, Games, and More! Join us and other Local Athens Businesses in supporting community youth for a safe and happy Halloween! Visit booths for candy giveaways, products, games, and scary sights. We’ll have activities and contests with prizes and raffles.
Downtown Watkinsville: Come Trick or Treat with the local merchants in downtown Watkinsville from 4-6pm on Wednesday Oct 31st.
