There are so many fun fall festivals in and around Athens, Georgia! Here’s a list of the ones that I’ve found, which includes church fall festivals, haunted houses, and more in our area. Please leave me a comment and let me know of others that you find! I’ll be happy to add the list!

Milledge Avenue Baptist Church Pumpkin Patch: We have pumpkins of all sizes for sale. The cost of the pumpkin depends on the size and kind. Come on out to our front lawn and pick out a few pumpkins

Zombie Farms: Athens Zombie Tours will be be open from 8 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays beginning October 13. Admission to the farm is $22 for an individual and $20 per person for groups of 10 or more.
Fearopolis: Funopolis has transformed into Fearopolis! Enjoy the Entertaining Haunted Hayride. Don’t get lost in the Non-haunted Pallet Maze. Test your mind with the Quick Escape Room. Fridays and Saturdays Sept. 30 through Halloween! 7 pm – 11 pm

Six Flags Fright Fest: Fright Fest, presented by SNICKERS®, is back for select days September 23-October 31 at Six Flags Over Georgia. Fright Fest offers a wide variety of places to get your scare on including several haunted houses and scare zones located throughout the park. BEWARE! There is no place to hide!
Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival: September 29 – October 29 (Friday – Sunday). Enjoy the beautiful fall colors and cooler weather at Atlanta’s favorite place to celebrate the fall season. Stone Mountain Park’s annual Pumpkin Festival has become a family favorite with kids and parents alike. Take in all of the splendor that autumn provides with attractions, fun-filled games, shows, and more.
Zoo Atlanta – Boo at the Zoo: October 21, 22, 28, 29 – Visit the zoo, plus Enter costume contests at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; make sure to arrive a few minutes early so we don’t miss your costume. Find your way through the inflatable Corn Maze.
Royston Fall Festival: Come out for a fun filled day at Royston Fall Festival! We will be selling snap jewelry as a vendor at this event! Many vendors and more to do! We will also have a contest for our customers to enter day of event!
Scary Oozy Slimy Day at Sandy Creek Nature Center: The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will present its annual “Scary, Oozy, Slimy Day” on Saturday, October 21 from 5-8 PM at Sandy Creek Nature Center. Forests can seem like a scary place at night when the lights are dim and the shadows are long. Animals are hooting and screeching. Find out what may be hiding in the dark to discover the forest is not such a scary place. Games, crafts, live animal encounters and activities in the dark. Wear your Halloween costume and participate in a variety of games, activities, and crafts.
Colbert First Baptist Church – Celebrate Colbert: CFBC’s annual, “Celebrate Colbert,” is quickly approaching at the Colbert Community Ball Park! We hope your family will join us for a great afternoon of fellowship with fun for all ages available! 100% Free! Invite your neighbors and make your calendar and lets Celebrate Colbert and our local community together October 21st!
Oconee Heights Baptist Church – FREE event for the whole family! October 21 from 2 to 4 pm. We will have Trunk & Treat, Games, Food, and lots of fun!!
Jeepers Creepers Escape Room: 10am-4pm. Can your group solve the mysteries of our escape room and get out before time runs out!? Use your best strategic thinking skill to solve these spooktacular hints and clues. To reserve your escape time, please call East Athens Community Center at 706-613-3593 by Wednesday, October 18th by 9:00 pm. Spots are available on a first-come basis. A minimum of 4 players is required to reserve your spot.
Thumbprint Funprint: Halloween Art: All hands on deck…err…inkpads! Join us for a fun morning of spooky thumbprint art. Learn how to make witches, ghouls, skeletons and more. For children ages 5-11 and their caregivers. 11-11:30am in the Library Storyroom.
Winterville United Methodist Church Fall Festival: 10am-2pm. Games, cake walk, popcorn, corndogs, chips, beverages, facepainting.
Oconee County Fall Festival: Now in its 43rd year, the Oconee Chamber Fall Festival is known as a premiere Arts & Crafts festival. With over 200+ booths and 25,000 in attendance, this one day festival is the largest arts & crafts venue in the area. We invite you to come and enjoy a cool, crisp fall day in Historic Downtown Watkinsville. Where craftsmen from all over the Southeast come to sell their handmade goods which includes; jewelry, woodwork, photography, paintings, pottery, candles, and much more. You can smell the funnel cakes, BBQ and fresh popped kettle corn in the air. There are plenty of activities for the young and the young at heart; rock climbing wall, spider jump, petting zoo, inflatable slides, mechanical bull ride, and train rides. Fun for all ages! Admission is free along with free offsite parking.
Faith Fall Festival: 5-7pm. Children, students, and adults of all ages can enjoy games, prizes, hot dogs, refreshments, cake walk, photo booth, and more… all FREE! Come in costume, if you like! Enjoy live music while relaxing with friends, eating dinner, or picking up a game of cornhole. Families with little ones will enjoy the carnival style games, train ride, and bounce house. Classic City Clydesdales: This event is designed for the younger kids to enjoy our haunted hayride in a fun way that’s not so scary. Children under 12. Please bring your 2 or 4 legged kids to our annual “Trick or Treat the Trail” at Classic City Clydesdales benefiting Athens Area Humane Society. Come in costume! The cost is a $10 donation per child/pet and we will supply candy, petting zoo animals and an experience they won’t soon forget. Plus, the kids will get out on the farm, burn off energy and learn about some very interesting critters! Well behaved dogs on leash are welcome. We will have prizes for best costume for both the children and the pets!
Pumpkin Decorating Workshop at the Oconee County Library – 2:00-5:00 pm. Decorate a pumpkin like your favorite book character (no carving- get creative with art supplies!) to enter in our Pumpkin Decorating Contest! We’ll have craft supplies and a limited number of pumpkins—please bring your own, if possible. We’ll display the pumpkins all week, and everyone will vote for their favorites! Ages 0-11. Free and open to the public.
Chick-fil-A Atlanta Highway Touch a Truck: Celebrate Halloween early and come out in your costumes for Touch-A-Truck and Truck-Or-Treat October 24th from 5-7PM! Family friendly astmosphere and tons of fun! See first responder vehicles up close, receive candy, hang out with Mr. Cow, and enter to win a prize for dressing up! Only at Chick-fil-A Atlanta Highway. For children under 12 years of age. Must be accompanied by an adult.
One Spooky Night: Put on your favorite Halloween disguise and join us for our 18th annual haunting evening of seasonal tales, costumes, shadow puppetry and surprises! After the performance, journey through the haunted Storyroom. 6:30-8pm at the Athens Libary
Hull Baptist Fall Festival: Chili cook off, cake bake off, Children’s cake bake off, hot dog supper with chips provided, fun for the whole family. 6pm.
Boo at the Zoo: Take a haunted trick or treat tour of Bear Hollow zoo, then stop by our festive Halloween Carnival for fun and prizes! There will be games, activities,and more. Costume contest every hour. 5-8pm. Cost is $5 per person.

Welcome to the Haunted House: There’s a ghost in the house, in the creepy haunted house! Are you ready for some creepy, not too scary fun? If you are, you won’t want to miss this spooktacular good time. 11-11:30am in the storyroom.
Family Monster Movie Afternoon at the Oconee County Library: 2:00 pm. Join us for a not-so-scary monster movie; we’ll provide the popcorn! And, we can make some funny monster mask crafts together! All ages. Free and open to the public.
Jack-O-Lantern Jog and Goblin Fun Run: Annual road race and one-mile fun run fundraiser for Sandy Creek Nature Center, Inc. Prizes awarded for top finishers in each age division for the race. Ages: Open to all ages. Time: Costume contest for runners aged 10 and under at 1:30 p.m. One-mile fun run begins at 2:00 p.m. Race begins at 2:30 p.m. Registration: Registration forms available at Sandy Creek Nature Center or register online at www.active.com.
Grace Fellowship Fall Festival: Our annual Fall Festival will be on Sunday, October 29th from 2-5PM. All are welcome to join us for fun activities, inflatables, and more!
Halloween Carnival at East Athens Community Center: Join us on Halloween as we celebrate this fun-filled day with costume contests, games, face painting, crafts and a haunted house at the East Athens Community Center! Ages: 5-18 Time: 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Fee: $3.00
“Spook-tastic” Reptile Zoo: Come on by and spend a “Spook-tastic” Halloween with the UGA Herpetological Society. Teens will get a chance to learn about the more “eerie” animals in our eco-system. Library Multipurpose Room B
Mall-O-Ween: Join us for our 2nd Annual Mall-O-Ween & Adult Costume Contest Event! 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Candy stations will be set up throughout the mall for kids to enjoy some of their favorite treats! There will also be face painting and balloon art! And parents don’t forget to enter the Adult Costume Contest! Registration will begin at 7:15 at the Belk Stage. Watkinsville Trick or Treat: Bring your family to Downtown Watkinsville for a safe and fun place to trick or treat on Halloween.
Forest Heights Baptist Church Fall Festival: Join us on our field for games, a bounce house, goody bags, and more! We’ll have hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, and snocones.
