This week, I’ve been decorating for Christmas, attending Christmas parades and activities, and getting in to the Christmas spirit. One of our favorite ways to get into the Christmas spirit is by listening to Christmas music.
Amy Grant’s new Tennessee Christmas album was released in October and it’s fantastic! Amy Grant is one of my favorite artists. In Tennessee Christmas, you’ll find some of your old favorite Christmas songs and maybe even some new favorites. Included on the album, you’ll hear Tennessee Christmas, White Christmas, Joy to the World, and more. You can listen/watch a preview of To Be Together with the video below:
We have an extra copy of Amy Grant’s Tennessee Christmas to give away to one lucky reader. Fill out the Rafflecopter below for your chance to win.

This review was made possible by iConnect and Luvs. I was provided compensation to facilitate this post, but all opinions stated are 100% mine.
The new Luvs commercial makes me laugh because it is so true! With my first child, I was prepared for just about anything it seemed. With the 2nd child and each one after, I was more practical and just grabbed what we needed to get through our outings. Check out the commercial below:
I was excited to find out that Luvs recently released Luvs Ultra Leakguard Diapers with NightLock Plus™. We tried these new diapers out with Simon and I was quite impressed! I’ll be using Luvs more often now! We’ve been starting to have leaking issues with him at nighttime but didn’t with these new diapers! I’m all about not having to change a wet baby and wet sheets in the middle of the night!
Luvs recently took a poll to take a look at parenting like it really is and uncover what they truly value most. The survey found that:
I know for me, it’s RARE when I get to take a day off for just me, but that’s what I signed up for when I became a mom. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but it is nice to have moments where I can just breathe.
On November 29th, you can join in the Luvs #WhatULuv Twitter Party for the chance to win some wonderful prizes!
To RSVP, simply click here.
One lucky Mommy Octopus reader will win a $25 AmEx gift card and a pack of the new Luvs NightLock Diapers! If you don’t want to wait to win, you can visit http://www.coupons.com/brands/luvs-coupons/ to access a Luvs coupon of $1 off any one diaper pack. Fill out the Rafflecopter for your chance:

On Monday night, the family and I (minus baby) headed south and went to check out Six Flags over Georgia’s Holiday in the Park. Our visit there did not disappoint!
Through January 4, 2017, Six Flags over Georgia will be open for Holiday in the Park, where the park is transformed into a winter wonderland with millions of lights!
Many of our favorite rides were open without much of a wait! I don’t think we waited longer than about 5-10 max for anything and much was practically walk-on! The entire park isn’t open during Holiday in the Park, but a good majority is open. A complete list of rides open can be seen on their website, along with the shows and holiday foods.
We were able to catch one of the shows called Because It’s Christmas. This was such a beautiful holiday musical! Be sure to bring tissues if you decide to check out this show! I’m so glad we attended this one!
Everywhere in the park that we looked was completely covered in lights! Such a beautiful sight in one of our favorite amusement parks.
Huge thank you to our friends at Six Flags over Georgia for inviting us in and for providing a delicious dinner!
Interested in checking out the park for yourself? Head on over to their website to purchase your tickets!

I cannot wait for the new Pete’s Dragon to come out! The original was one of my favorite movies. We went to see the new Pete’s Dragon in the theatre and it was incredible! I laughed, I cried! It was great!
Pete’s Dragon will be available on Blu-ray™, Digital HD + Disney Movies Anywhere November 29th! Not too much longer to wait!
Synopsis:
For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliot. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliot seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.
Families will be captivated by this magical movie followed by never-before-seen bonus features, including a revealing look at director David Lowery’s personal diary kept during the filming of “Pete’s Dragon,” the design process behind the lovable dragon Elliot, deleted scenes, a tour of the film’s breathtaking production location of New Zealand, audio commentary by filmmakers and actors and hilarious bloopers.
“Pete’s Dragon” stars Bryce Dallas Howard (“Jurassic World”) as Grace, a forest ranger in the Pacific Northwest who happens upon 10-year-old Pete, played by Oakes Fegley (“This is Where I Leave You”). Oona Laurence (“Southpaw”) is Natalie, the 11-year-old daughter of Jack, a lumber-mill owner played by Wes Bentley (“The Hunger Games”). Karl Urban (“Star Trek”) is Jack’s bumbling brother Gavin and Oscar®-winner Robert Redford (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier”) portrays Mr. Meacham, an old wood carver who delights the local children with tales of a fierce dragon.

Great news that Disney’s The BFG will be Available on Blu-ray™, Digital HD + Disney Movies Anywhere November 29th! We haven’t seen this yet, but the book was so much fun! Can’t wait to see it in real life! I’m sure it will exceed our expectations, like most of Disney’s movies!
The talents of three of the world’s greatest storytellers – Roald Dahl, Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg – finally unite to bring Dahl’s beloved classic “The BFG” to life. Directed by Spielberg, Disney’s “The BFG” tells the imaginative story of a young girl and the Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. The BFG (Mark Rylance), while a giant himself, is a Big Friendly Giant and nothing like the other inhabitants of Giant Country. Standing 24-feet tall with enormous ears and a keen sense of smell, he is endearingly dim-witted and keeps to himself for the most part. Giants like Bloodbottler (Bill Hader) and Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement) on the other hand, are twice as big and at least twice as scary and have been known to eat humans, while the BFG prefers Snozzcumber and Frobscottle.
Upon her arrival in Giant Country, Sophie, a precocious 10-year-old girl from London, is initially frightened of the mysterious giant who has brought her to his cave, but soon comes to realize that the BFG is actually quite gentle and charming, and, having never met a giant before, has many questions. The BFG brings Sophie to Dream Country where he collects dreams and sends them to children, teaching her all about the magic and mystery of dreams. Having both been on their own in the world up until now, their affection for one another quickly grows, but Sophie’s presence in Giant Country has attracted the unwanted attention of the other giants, who have become increasingly more bothersome. Sophie and the BFG soon depart for London to see the Queen (Penelope Wilton) and warn her of the precarious giant situation, but they must first convince the Queen and her maid, Mary (Rebecca Hall), that giants do indeed exist. Together, they come up with a plan to get rid of the giants once and for all.
