We have a fire pit out back and we use it often whenever friends come over for an outdoor movie or at various times during the year. The kids love making s’mores or just working on their fire building skills for scouts. Walmart.com currently has this Mainstays 28″ Fire Pit with Cover and Spark Guard for only $35.01. Even better, it qualifies for FREE shipping!

Happy Monday! It’s been a while since I wrote up our meal plan for the week, but we’ve been busy and trying to use up random things in the house. We’ve been thoroughly enjoying the gorgeous weather over the past few weeks are are thankful for the warmth and sunshine. We’ve also been planting a garden and seeing what we can grow. I’m not a great gardener, so we will see what happens. We’ve planted tomatoes, peppers, jalapeños, zucchini, and more. Our peach tree already looks gorgeous and we are looking forward to its bounty again this year.
Here’s our meal plan for the week:
Monday: Burrito Bowls
Tuesday: Buffalo Chicken
Wednesday: Lentil Soup
Thursday: Grilled Chicken Salad
Friday: Chicken Pot Pie
Saturday: Leftovers
Sunday: Dinner out

It’s that time of year! Time to find where all the sunglasses have run off to and snag a few more pairs. Every year I grab this deal to make sure I’m well stocked for when they break or get lost. 13deals.com is currently offering a random set of 8 sunglasses for only $15.49! You choose between men, women, or a mix of sunglasses! Much better quality than dollar store in my opinion.
Very pleased since just 1 pair of decent ones at Walmart is over $10! I would totally buy this deal again!

I’m loving all the great family friendly movies that are coming out lately! My younger 4 children (ages 14, 11, 10, and 5) and I just watched a new movie called Dolphin Island. It was a sweet, “feel-good” type movie that we all enjoyed. There was joy, sadness, suspense, everything needed to make a well-rounded movie to entertain both children and adults. We really liked Dolphin Island and I could definitely see us watching it again.
14-year-old Annabel lives with her fisherman grandfather on an island paradise. She is surrounded by an extended family of loving but quirky neighbors and her best friend – a dolphin named Mitzy. Everything changes when her maternal grandparents arrive with a shifty lawyer to bring her back to New York. It’s up to Annabel and her friends to figure out how to save the day and prove that love conquers all!
Dolphin Island released on Digital HD on Tuesday, March 2nd on most video-on-demand platforms.
In family friendly reviews, I do like to mention if there is something that hits my ears as something I’d rather not have my younger ones hearing. The only thing mentioned in this one that stood out to me is briefly when 2 characters were accused of sleeping together. I also want to mention a little trigger warning since this did mention the deaths of parents and also a foster care/ potential child removal investigation situation that could be scary for younger or more sensitive viewers.
My kids all really liked it and were glad to have a happy ending. My 5 year old son laughed and cheered whenever the dolphin was doing tricks. It was fun to see! I’d love to say more about the movie, but I don’t want to give away the details. You can watch the trailer for Dolphin Island below.

Last night, my husband and I watched the new movie Church People. We both laughed and could relate to many of the events in the movie from things we have seen and experienced in the Christian culture, with some churches trying their hardest to do whatever it takes to “bring in people” and washing down the Gospel. This movie really puts it bluntly, but in a very comical way. We enjoyed it and it’s something that we will watch again with our teenagers. There was one section where the main character, Guy, has a conversation with a teenager that I don’t feel would be appropriate for my younger kids to hear right now, so I would advise a little caution about that. It’s done humorously, but still struck me a little weird. I’m sure youth pastors have heard all sorts of wild and crazy things, though!
You can watch the official trailer for Church People below.
Weary from the showiness and materialism that has overtaken his ministry efforts, Guy (Ramsey) goes on a journey to get back in touch with the heart of ministry and be a real role model to his youth group kids. He makes the difficult decision to cut short his speaking tour managed by his money-focused agent (Faison) after realizing that his reputation has become more fame-based than Gospel-driven.
But when Guy attempts to return to regular youth ministry, he is thrust into the throes of dissuading the youth group from performing a strange and potentially blasphemous stunt for the upcoming Easter service, starring a young, zealous new believer, Blaise. In attempting to manage his youth group while navigating an unexpected love interest in the Senior Pastor’s daughter (Cahill) and being a new father to his grown daughter (Manfredi), Guy ultimately rediscovers and puts on a powerful presentation of why we all need to put our hope in Jesus and not in ourselves.
In theaters and churches starting March 13!
One lucky reader will receive a digital code to watch this movie in their own home! Simply comment below for your chance to win!
Note: The giveaway is limited to North American residents ONLY. Giveaway ends March 17th.
