Join Zoo Atlanta for the 2020 spring Educator Appreciation Day! Educators enjoy free admission and discounts for accompanying guests on March 14, 2020.
In addition to opportunities to learn about Zoo Atlanta’s school programs, meet scientists from Georgia Tech and learn about their work connecting the movement of animals to real-life phenomenon. Georgia Tech scientists and Zoo Atlanta Educators will have a number of stations around the zoo showcasing awesome animal adaptations and what we can learn from them. Good morning everyone. If you follow this blog, you may have noticed I didn’t post a meal plan or really much of anything last week. With a lot of craziness going on, I just needed a mental health break. I had some great friends and family come along side of us and loved us well through the past few weeks. Nothing is wrong, just a lot of crazy, all at once, was weighty. Today we got news that my husband’s thyroid nodules are actually shrinking, which is GREAT! This means he won’t have to follow up again until next year unless something unexpected shows up on his next scan in April. This was a nice surprise since the last ultrasound results said they may have to do another biopsy. So thankful!
This week we are expecting more rain, but next weekend looks to be perfect for riding horses. I’m going to ignore all the rain days and think about the beautiful weekend to come.

This is always one of our favorite events to take littles to see. My older kids are getting to big but they still enjoy going out because sometimes their dad is there.
The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will present “Touch-A-Truck,” Saturday, March 14 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Southeast Clarke Park.
A variety of vehicles and heavy equipment will be on site including construction vehicles, dump trucks, fire trucks, police cars, and more. Each vehicle will have trained staff present to answer questions. There will be a “Horn Free Half Hour” from 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
This family program will take place on the Lexington Road side of Southeast Clarke Park. This program is free and open to the public.
It’s time for the Smithsonian Magazine Free Museum Day! Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. The Museum Day ticket provides free admission for two people on Saturday 4/4/20.
