Y’all I am so excited! I was scrolling news earlier and came across this, which has gone viral on many major news stations:
Why am I excited? For one, because lots of officers are feeling support. For two, because it’s my printable that I made back in 2014! How cool is that! Interested in making your own bags? Head on over to check out my post with the free Survival Kit for Police Officers printables.
Also see more information and support for our officers here.
My posts showing law enforcement support have gotten so popular lately! Sometimes links get broken when being shared, so I made this page so my readers can find all the information in one location. I will update this post as more articles or information are shared. Thank you for taking the time to read and support our officers. Mommy Octopus is proud to Back the Blue!

After over 11 years of being a law enforcement wife, I find it encouraging to turn to God’s word during hard times instead of focusing on the “What If”.
In the past 7 days, 7 officers have been murdered in the United States. I have to admit that this saddens and scares me. During these times, I like to focus on Bible verses to encourage me as a deputy’s wife.
I encourage you to memorize some of these verses and pray for and with your husband using them. Teach them to your children as well. Know that we aren’t fighting this fight alone. I’m praying for you and your family daily.

My husband just sent me an article on PoliceOne that talked about how silicone rings were better for law enforcement officers. There have been times where his ring has gotten caught on something and he could have lost a finger or broke it! I’m grabbing him these now – only $8.95 for 2!

In addition to the Law Enforcement Appreciation Bags that I made a couple years ago and the ornaments that I made last year, I’ve come up with a law enforcement care package to gift to hubby’s shift this year. My hubby helped me pick out things that he knew his shift would enjoy and use. These would be great if you or your kids wanted to put some together for your local officers as well.
Also, if you are shopping for a law enforcement officer, you can see my hubby’s list of gift ideas for law enforcement officers.
The bags we found at Target as they have a variety of colored lunch sacks in their paper products aisle. Once we had the products inside, we punched 2 holes at the top and tied it close with black ribbon and added the little paper note.
Inside our care packages, I’ve included:
Other ideas that we didn’t include but would be a great fit:
These were a hit with the shift. Everyone is always so thankful and grateful for a little treat to keep them focused and encouraged.
Interested in the free “Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year” printable? You can find that HERE.
Do you have ideas of what else would be a great addition to these packages? Share below!

The other day I had a reader email me and ask about ideas for her law enforcement officer husband for Christmas. My husband has been in law enforcement for about 11 years now so he has definitely developed a list of his favorite items. I got with him today and compiled a list of his favorite things to share with you all. I hope you enjoy this list of Christmas gifts for Law Enforcement Officers.
If you’re looking for shift ideas, check out our Law Enforcement Appreciation bags. They are always a great hit.
Do you love an officer? What would you add to this list?

Many thanks to Pure Flix for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.
We’ve been taking a break from watching a lot of TV the past few weeks. I was recently asked to check out a new series from Pure Flix called Eleanor’s Bench.
“Eleanor’s Bench” is a touching show that shines a light on the juvenile justice system in an informative en enlightening way. This new show is full of important lessons about following God’s calling, practicing self control, learning from your past and discovering that we are enough and deserving of God’s love. Watch the trailer below for a sneak peek:
As a law enforcement family, we know about crime, justice, and many other subjects covered in this series. I love that it portrays them from a fair stance and shows the system in a better way.
Currently, there are 5 Eleanor’s Bench episodes released and the final one will come out this Friday! Since I started watching it today, I’ve blown through 3 of the episodes and cannot wait to see more! This series if very well done, intriguing, and leaves me anticipating Fridays!
You won’t want to miss out! Head on over to Pure Flix to check it out. You can score a free trial to watch Pure Flix if you haven’t already.

My husband and I love watching shows together in the evening with our teenagers once our littles are in bed. It’s hard to find decent shows that everyone enjoys. We were given a three month subscription to Pure Flix to check out their show Vindication. I love that this is a fun detective/mystery show that is clean and not filled with gore and other things that we prefer to keep out of the house.
Being a law enforcement family, we have really enjoyed Season 1 and watching a police drama that is entertaining and CLEAN! I would say, due to the nature of the crimes and dialogue, that I would recommend this for teenagers and older. We are excited to watch Season 2 as it becomes available. Season 2, set to debut on September 1, 2021, will feature new episodes releasing weekly on Wednesdays.
The Pure Flix Original Series Vindication has grown a devoted fan base for its ability to inspire faith with compelling crime narratives and issues of the day.
In Season 2, Detective Gary Travis will encounter real-world obstacles in his professional and personal life that will challenge his character and stretch his faith.
Watch the official trailer for Season 2 here.
This faith-based police drama was the vision of Jarod O’Flaherty who was inspired to turn police dramas on their head after watching a series with his wife. O’Flaherty never intended to make a television series, but set out to produce a short film for his church, Retta Baptist Church, in Burleson, Texas.
A 26-minute film of the same name received awards and accolades from film festivals and the Christian entertainment world. And it sparked the demand for a full season, comprising 10-episodes and following the faith and work of Detective Travis.
“Vindication” stars Todd Terry as Gary Travis; Venus Monique as Detective Kris Tanner; Peggy Schott as Becky Travis. Season 2 will debut T.C. Stallings as Detective Trae Millwood.
Additional information is available at Pure Flix.

Whew – it’s been a LOOONG time since I posted a Meal Plan Monday on the blog. Things have been busy, but I’ve enjoyed taking a break from blogging and am slowly working at it again. Many things have changed for our family in the past few weeks and months. For starters, I have officially graduated my oldest from our homeschool! One down, four to go! My husband has also changed jobs. He still is in law enforcement, but he has moved to a more supportive county instead of where he was prior. I’ve also found a part time job that I’m just thrilled about as well! The kids keep on growing! The year ahead will bring some major changes to our schooling, but we are all eagerly looking forward to those. Next week, we plan to put our house on the market to get closer to where my husband and I are working.
Thank all of you that continue to follow my blog and support our family.
Monday: Buffalo Chicken Casserole, okra
Tuesday: Lentil Soup
Wednesday: Dinner with friends
Thursday: Steak, mashed potatoes, limas
Friday: Pizza
Saturday: Pork, brown rice, broccoli
Sunday: Leftovers
